Abstract

In an increasingly digital and experience-driven marketplace, the shift from product-centric to experience-centric marketing has become a strategic necessity for firms seeking sustainable competitive differentiation. This study aims to explore how customer-centric innovation drives the transformation of traditional marketing strategies into immersive, value-rich experiences that meet evolving consumer expectations. Using a qualitative research design grounded in an interpretivist perspective, the study employed a multiple-case study approach across diverse industries. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with marketing and innovation professionals, supplemented by company documents and secondary sources. Thematic analysis identified four key findings. First, customer-centric innovation reshapes value creation by shifting the focus from tangible products to emotional and symbolic experiences. Second, technological integration, including artificial intelligence (AI) and real-time analytics, facilitates hyper-personalization and adaptive customer engagement. Third, emotional branding and storytelling play strategic roles in strengthening customer loyalty and fostering brand resonance. Fourth, sustainable experience strategies are co-created through continuous feedback mechanisms and stakeholder engagement. These findings contribute to the theoretical development of experiential marketing and value co-creation while providing practical insights for firms seeking to align their brand strategies with customer values in dynamic market environments. Overall, the study highlights that competitive advantage in the modern marketplace depends not merely on selling products but also on creating meaningful, adaptive, and emotionally engaging experiences that encourage customers to return and share their experiences with others.
